About IDA

The Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA) is seeking a passionate and organized volunteer to join our team as a Committee Manager. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to IDA’s mission by coordinating and facilitating activities for our specialized or cross-cutting committees. As a Committee Manager, you will play a key role in fostering engagement, organizing webinars, and facilitating knowledge exchange between global stakeholders in the infectious disease field, alongside collaborating with other teams at IDA, like Partnership, Science, Communication, and Policy teams.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with global health professionals, researchers, policymakers, and organizations to build strong committee participation.

  • Webinar & Event Management: Organize virtual/hybrid events, secure speakers, meet with them, and manage logistics to ensure high-quality knowledge-sharing sessions.

  • Content Development: Contribute to the development of concept notes, dissemination plans, technical, political, and scientific reports, briefings, and summaries of committee activities.

  • Digital Collaboration: Utilize digital tools (Google Drive, Slack, and video conferencing platforms) to ensure smooth committee operations.

  • Strategic Planning: Work with IDA leadership to align committee activities with the organization’s broader goals.

 

Requirements

Educational & Professional Background:

  • Background in health sciences, public health, global health, or a related field.

  • Experience in event planning, stakeholder engagement, or health/epidemiologic/policy research is a plus.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Experience with virtual collaboration tools (Google Drive, Slack, etc.).

  • Passion for infectious disease policy, health governance, and global collaboration.

International Organizations Focal Point Internship (Geneva)

About IDA

The Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA) is seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join our Policy, Advocacy, and Communications team as the International Organizations Focal Point based in Geneva. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to IDA’s mission of advocating for effective infectious disease prevention and treatment policies by engaging with key international organizations and stakeholders headquartered in Geneva.

 

Responsibilities

  • International Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between IDA and international organizations based in Geneva, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations agencies, and other key stakeholders.

  • Develop Advocacy Materials: Create position papers, fact sheets, and engaging social media content tailored to international audiences and stakeholders in Geneva.

  • Policy Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of international policies affecting infectious disease prevention and treatment to inform advocacy strategies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in meetings with international officials, UN representatives, WHO experts, and other global stakeholders based in Geneva.

  • Content Creation: Draft newsletters, press releases, and update content for IDA’s website, ensuring relevance to our international partners and audiences.

  • Policy Monitoring: Track and analyze policy developments within international organizations and prepare briefs to keep the team informed.

  • Event Support: Assist in organizing and coordinating events, workshops, and webinars related to international health policies and infectious disease advocacy.

  • Fundraising Support: Assist in identifying potential funding opportunities, preparing proposal materials, and supporting donor outreach initiatives to secure resources that further IDA’s mission in global health advocacy.

 

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or graduated from a degree program in Public Health, International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Global Health, or a related field.

  • Skills:

    • Strong research and writing abilities with the capacity to articulate complex issues clearly.

    • Interest in global health, infectious diseases, and advocacy, particularly within the context of international organizations.

    • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of French, German, or other relevant languages is an asset.

    • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.

  • Location Flexibility: Ability to work remotely or in a hybrid setting from Geneva, with occasional in-person meetings as needed.

  • Additional Qualities:

    • Understanding of the frameworks and processes of key international organizations based in Geneva.

    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

About IDA


The Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA) is seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join our Policy, Advocacy, and Communications team as the EU Policy Focal Point based in Brussels. This role provides a unique opportunity to support the organization of key high-level events and contribute to IDA’s mission of advocating for effective infectious disease prevention and treatment policies within the European Union.

This internship will focus on supporting the organization of two major events:

One Health, One Vision: Advancing Europe’s Health Security Conference (Brussels, November 2025, under the Danish EU Presidency)
European Parliament Event on Vaccine Hesitancy (Brussels, 14 May 2025, hosted by MEP Nicolás González Casares)

The role will also provide assistance in planning future IDA-hosted events and advocacy initiatives in Brussels.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Event Organization Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of IDA’s upcoming high-level events, ensuring logistical and operational efficiency.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support outreach efforts to EU officials, European Parliament members, policymakers, and key stakeholders to ensure successful event participation.

  • EU Policy Coordination: Act as a liaison between IDA and EU institutions, aligning advocacy efforts with EU health policies.

  • Policy Research and Analysis: Conduct research on EU policies affecting infectious disease prevention and treatment to inform IDA’s strategies.

  • Content Creation: Assist in drafting event materials, briefing notes, newsletters, social media posts, and press releases.

  • Grants and Project Proposals Support: Contribute to drafting grant applications and project proposals to secure funding for IDA’s EU-based initiatives.

 

Requirements

 

Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or graduated from a degree program in Public Health, Political Science, European Studies, International Relations, Communications, or a related field.

Skills & Experience:

Strong research and writing abilities with the capacity to articulate complex issues clearly.
Interest in global health, infectious diseases, and EU health policy.
Familiarity with event organization and stakeholder engagement in the EU policy environment.
Understanding of EU institutions, legislative processes, and health policy frameworks.
Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of French, Dutch, or other EU languages is an asset.
Experience with digital communication tools and social media is a plus.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
